Beardow Adams AB manufactures solvent-free adhesives, many of them based on natural, renewable raw materials such as starch and dextrin.
The main markets served are paper and plastic packaging & converting, assembly, woodworking and a number of speciality niches. Beardow Adams AB also supplies the other products of the Beardow Adams Group, including a full range of hot melt adhesives for use in packaging, tapes & labels, woodworking, bookbinding, non-wovens and product assembly.
The company location in Landskrona makes it ideally positioned to serve local Nordic markets, but Beardow Adams AB also exports its products to many other countries. Beardow Adams AB is well-positioned for further growth as part of the Beardow Adams Group.
History
Svenska Lim was first established in Landskrona in 1901 under the name ”Nordiska Hartslimfabriken” (Nordic Resin Glue Factory). It was a subsidiary of a German company, ”H Peters GmbH”, with the business idea of providing the growing Nordic paper industry with resin glues. Franz Meyer joined from the German parent company and in 1911 he also started another company, Svenska Limämnesfabriken (Swedish Adhesive Factory) as his own business, making dextrin and adhesives. After some years, the two companies were merged under Mr. Meyer’s ownership. In 1951, the company outgrew the original site and moved to the present location. In 1974, Svenska Lim became part of Lyckeby Starch. Co-operation with Beardow Adams started in 2003 with distribution of hot melt adhesives and, in 2012, Beardow Adams purchased a majority share in the company, acquiring the remaining shares in 2015 and changing name to Beardow Adams AB on 2017.
