Adhesives for self-adhesive coatings
Beardow Adams’ PRESSEN™ range of hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives (HMPSA) are formulated to achieve the highest performance capabilities – meeting or surpassing customer expectations for a wide range of self-adhesive applications.
They are manufactured on the most modern and sophisticated equipment and are presented in either unique film wrapped ECOBLOCKS™ – developed to make handling and use easier – silicone lined blocks or drums.
Beardow Adams has a range of adhesives to meet the demanding requirements of the specialist markets where self-adhesive coatings are used, with grades that are suitable for:
- Use on high speed, in-line coating operations.
- Application by slot or roller coater.
- Use at extremes of temperature: -40°C to +100°C.
- Direct food contact – raw materials approved to F&DA CFR 21.175.125(b).
- Use in high speed die cutting operations.
We have grades with:
- High tensile strength.
- High or low peel adhesion.
- Long storage life on the reel.
- Good clarity and UV resistance.

Backing this, a specialised laboratory, devoted to the development of these adhesives and with in-house coating facilities, is available to carry out in-depth evaluations and enhance the service provided to customers. Performance tests can be carried out to the international standards PSTC, FINAT, AFERA, ASTM and PSMA.

Self-adhesive tapes
 PRESSEN hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives (HMPSA) are used for a wide variety of tape applications, including: self-wound, finger-lift, double sided and re-inforced tape manufacture.
Beardow Adams products are used for making multi-purpose tape, high adhesion security bag tapes and high heat resistance tapes.
PRESSEN hot melt adhesives can be found on a wide variety of tape materials, including: paper, metal foil, plastic films, foams and woven and non-woven textiles.
Self-adhesive labels
 PRESSEN hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives (HMPSA) are used for a wide variety of machine applied self-adhesive label applications. Requirements may be for Permanent (destructive bonds) or for peelable (removable) labels applications. Both permanent and peelable adhesives exhibit excellent convertability in the die cutting of labels.
Permanent: Beardow Adams has developed a range of PRESSEN hot melt pressure sensitives for self-adhesive labels where permanent adhesion is required in the range of -40 to +100°C. They will adhere to many surfaces, including plastics, paper /cardboard, wood, metals, glass and ceramics.
Peelable: PRESSEN peelable adhesives peel easily and cleanly without staining the label or transferring to the second substrate.
End uses include labels for product identification, road signs, user instructions, warning labels, price marking, address labels, window stickers and promotional stickers/decals
Self-adhesive coatings for graphic arts and panels
| Within the PRESSEN range, we have adhesives designed for self-adhesive films used in graphic arts and self-adhesive film for encapsulation and point of sale graphics. We have products to meet the key requirements of: light colour, good adhesion to difficult substrates and repositionability. |
Self-adhesive coatings for bag and envelope closures

A range of PRESSEN adhesives designed to be applied directly to bag and envelope materials to allow a peel & seal / re-seal. Hot melt adhesives can be selected that give permanent destructive bonds for security bags or multi use re-sealability for food products.

Self-adhesive coatings for insect traps
 PRESSEN self-adhesive coatings are being used to manufacture traps for flying insects, cockroaches etc. These adhesives are formulated with high resistance to UV light and a very high tack.
