The problem
When one of our clients – a Swedish bread and biscuit manufacturer – came to us with the concern of a slow packaging line speed for the biscuits they produced, we made it our mission to find out how they could speed things up.
Due to the nature of our client’s products, we felt that our BAMFutura range was the best option for them due to material compatibility and the versatility of application. This in addition to the fact that many adhesives in the range are produced under BRC conditions, vegan or have direct food approval.
Beardow Adams’ BAMFutura collection eradicates nozzle blockages for a smoother application, which makes it the ideal match for most packaging. What’s more, BAMFutura adhesives are award-winning, versatile, pearl white in colour, run cleanly and have no smell meaning they won’t taint foodstuffs.
The solution
Following research from our R&D department and taking into account our biscuit manufacturing client’s newest requirement, Beardow Adams recommended a switch from BAMFutura 1 (which is our best all-round product) to BAMFutura 44 (which has a faster setting speed).
We helped our client implement this change after a number of successful trials which included a slight temperature increase. Fortunately, adhesives from the BAMFutura range have outstanding thermal stability meaning there’s less degradation when it comes to high and low temperatures.
After recommending the Swedish manufacturer run BAMFutura 44 on their biscuit packaging line – which uses Nordson Freeman hot-melt equipment on a Sefa Tech machine – our client was delighted to see the speed increase as a result of the change.
Further still, the speed of the packaging line could become even faster with time.
