Double win for Beardow Adams at 2020 Insider Awards

Beardow Adams has won two categories at Insider’s Made in Central and East England Awards 2020.

The event, which took place at Jurys Inn, Milton Keynes on Thursday, 27th February 2020, celebrates the region’s manufacturing talent.

All event winners will now go on to compete at Insider’s Made in the UK Awards final which takes place at Titanic Hotel Liverpool on Thursday, 11th June 2020.

Beardow Adams’ shining stars

Our budding Digital Marketing Apprentice Kaya Bird (above) took home the much-deserved Apprentice of the Year Award which recognises an individual apprentice in a manufacturing company of any sector and size.

Kaya joined Beardow Adams in September 2018 and has progressed remarkably ever since, embracing more and more responsibility in her role. She has impressed the team with her wide range of technical skills that she has learnt as part of her apprenticeship with Milton Keynes College, which included the successful completion of a Digital Marketing Diploma with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). One of Kaya’s biggest contributions to the business so far has been her part in researching bookbinding companies in the UK, which directly led to the company gaining two new customers, supported by further pipeline opportunities.

Beardow Adams’ Danny Collins was also shortlisted for the Apprentice of the Year Award for his impressive work at the company as a full-time maintenance apprentice, having previously worked in production. Danny completed his Level 2 Heating and Ventilation Apprenticeship at EAS Mechanical Training Centre in Northampton in 2019 and is now studying for the Level 3 qualification. Danny has supported the business in everything from the maintenance of existing equipment, to the installation of new facilities such as shower blocks and the installing and designing of new production lines and equipment. Danny has also played a crucial role in improving levels of efficiency, speed and reduction of stoppages due to machine breakages.

Beardow Adams would like to recognise and highlight further the exceptional work of both Kaya and Danny and thank them for their hard work, which has contributed to making the company the success that it is today.

Two-time Export Award winner

Beardow Adams is delighted to share that we have won the Export category at Insider’s Made in Central & East of England Awards for the second year running.

In recent years, the company has come on leaps and bound with moves such as opening an additional factory in Frankfurt to better serve the market in mainland Europe, acquiring two of its distribution partners – Svenska Lim in Sweden (now Beardow Adams AB) and Collodin in Germany (now Beardow Adams GmbH), and commissioning our latest hot-melt adhesive production line in Milton Keynes, England.

Our Milton Keynes facility – which comprises of Beardow Adams’ head office and largest production centre – exports 80% of its sales through subsidiaries and a Global Partner network, who are an extension to our Sales and Technical teams. Beardow Adam’s largest partners are in the Netherlands, France, Poland, Italy and Australia, and they account for 30% of our total sales to 72 different countries.

It is the hard work of our network of sales offices and Global Partners that allow Beardow Adams to serve over 10,000 clients worldwide; a collaboration that helps us achieve our mission to be globally recognised as a high-quality innovative adhesive manufacturer.
